Terms of use

Last updated 11 October 2026

PathwayMBA is an online business course run by PathwayMBA, based in New Zealand ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you join, sign in or use the course. If you have a question, email [email protected].

What you get

A membership gives one person access to the members' area: the weekly chapters, quizzes, progress tracking and search. We add chapters over time and may improve, reorder or correct material as we go. Week 1's Learn page is free to read without joining.

PathwayMBA is a self-study course. It is not an accredited degree or qualification, and finishing it does not give you an MBA. The worked examples, including the company Ara, are for teaching. Nothing in the course is financial, legal, tax or investment advice for your own situation.

Plans and billing

Monthly is charged every month from the day you join until you cancel. Full access is a single payment for access to the course for as long as we run it. Prices are in US dollars and shown on the join page before you pay. Your bank may add a currency conversion fee.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. If a monthly payment fails, Stripe will retry it, and access ends if it still can't be collected.

If we change the monthly price, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, so you can cancel first if you prefer. A discount you joined with stays in place for as long as its terms say.

Cancelling

You can cancel a monthly membership at any time from your account page ("Manage billing"). You keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again.

Refunds

Full access: if you change your mind, email us within 14 days of paying and we'll refund you in full. Your access ends when the refund is made.

Monthly: we don't refund part months. Cancelling stops the next payment, and you keep access until the paid month ends.

Separately from this policy, if something we sell isn't as described or doesn't work as it should, you have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, and nothing in these terms takes those rights away. If you're buying for a business, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply, as that Act allows.

Your account

You sign in with a link emailed to you, so keep your email account secure. A membership is for one person: please don't share your sign-in links or pass on course material. We may suspend an account that is shared, that tries to copy the course in bulk, or that misuses the site, and we'll tell you why.

Some people get free access through an invite code. We can end invited access at any time.

Copyright

The course text, diagrams, quizzes and the Ara model belong to us. You may make notes and copies for your own study. You may not republish, sell or share them, or use them to train software, without our written permission. Company names and quoted sources belong to their owners.

If the site isn't available

We aim to keep the site running, but it may sometimes be down for maintenance or because a service we rely on fails. If we ever close PathwayMBA, we'll give members at least 60 days' notice and refund full-access members a fair share of what they paid, based on how long they've had access.

Our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for decisions you make using what you learn here, or for indirect losses such as lost profits. Where we are responsible, our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits your rights under New Zealand consumer law.

Changes and the law that applies

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we'll email you before it takes effect, and you can cancel if you don't agree. These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts can hear any dispute.
